Custom Unsubscribe Page
This feature allows you to set up a custom unsubscribe page at the channel and customer levels. [Channel admin access required]
Basechannel Level – If a custom unsubscribe page is created at the Basechannel level, the unsubscribe page will be used across all customer accounts in the channel.
Customer Level – If a custom unsubscribe page is created at the Customer level, the unsubscribe page will apply to that customer account only. If only certain customer accounts within a channel have a custom unsubscribe page, those that do not will default to the basechannel level unsubscribe page.
The default page, pictured below, will be used across all accounts in a channel if customization is not applied.
Basechannel Level – If a custom unsubscribe page is created at the Basechannel level, the unsubscribe page will be used across all customer accounts in the channel.
Customer Level – If a custom unsubscribe page is created at the Customer level, the unsubscribe page will apply to that customer account only. If only certain customer accounts within a channel have a custom unsubscribe page, those that do not will default to the basechannel level unsubscribe page.
The default page, pictured below, will be used across all accounts in a channel if customization is not applied.
To apply customization at the basechannel level, click on Email Marketing, then hover over the Admin link in the navigation bar and within Basechannel in the dropdown, select Landing Pages.
The following list of landing pages will appear. Click on the edit icon for the desired landing page.
Below is the setup page that will appear.
The example below shows where each label is applied.
Select Yes for the question, "Do you want to override default settings?" if you'd like to use the custom unsubscribe page. If you are planning on creating any custom unsubscribe pages at the customer (account) level, select the Yes option for the question, "Do you want to allow Customers to override Basechannel Settings?"
When filling out each item label, keep in mind that customizable text will be static text with the exception of being able to use replacement values for Customer Name, Group Name and GroupDescription (%%customername%%, %%groupname%%, %%groupdescription%%).
Select ON (control visibility) for whichever fields you want to be displayed on the unsubscribe page.
Here is an example of how you might customize the unsubscribe page:

Standard text: Please select the main reason for unsubscribing. You can enter your own text in the text box located underneath the label "Make Field Visible." The Reason Label includes the option of using a free form text box or a dropdown. The items in the default dropdown list are configurable by clicking on the edit icon (pencil tool), and new reasons can also be added by entering information in the text box and clicking the Add button. |
Thank You and Redirect
To include a thank you page or redirect to another page, select the desired radio button from the following options:
If including either or both the thank you text or the redirect, text boxes will appear. Enter the appropriate text or URL in the associated text boxes. If using the redirect option, you can select a 5, 10 or 15 second delay. Sample text: Thank you for contacting us. Your unsubscribe request has been acknowledged. We’re sorry to see you go! |

To apply customization at the customer level, hover over the Page Setup link in the navigation bar and click Customer setup in the dropdown. Please note that in order to apply customization at the customer level, the Yes option must be selected next to the question, "Do you want to allow Customer to override Basechannel settings?" in the Basechannel setup area by a Channel Administrator.
Preview your Custom Unsubscribe Page
To preview how the page will look, go to the list of landing pages that you've created under Customer or Basechannel Setup. Click on the Preview button. If needed, click on the edit/pencil tool icon to make any desired changes.

Complete the same process at the customer level [Channel or Customer Admin] to make changes for each customer. Again, if no customization is chosen at the customer level, then the base channel selections will be used. If nothing is selected at that level, the KM default will be used.
If you are using a Reason Code on your custom unsubscribe page, you can find the reason someone unsubscribed in the campaign report by clicking on the number of unsubscribes in the Unique column.
Click on the number in the Unsubscribe unique column.

From there, a list of unsubscribes will appear. If Reason Codes were used, the individual reason response will appear.
